Over the years, I have had several friends lose their bikes to the removable sign post. They lock to a stop sign, speed limit post or no parking sign. When they return, their bike is gone, the signpost laying on the ground or completely gone (with their bike).
This is my attempt to raise awareness of this neighborhood booby trap & prevent more riders from having their bikes stolen.
I'm in the process of creating a sticker to be placed on signposts that can be lifted out of the ground as a warning to riders not to lock there. I also hope that as riders see these stickers posted, they'll begin to check to make sure the signposts they lock to are solidly attached to the ground.
